I have a dream
He said
riding on a sea of shining
faces
the tall tall white looming
behind
that one day there will
be
no more goodbyes
and no more goodnights
unless the words bring no
departure
I have a dream
He said
one voice heard across time
and distance
one hand clenched in a righteous
fist
that one day there will
be
pancakes in the morning
and burned cookies
while the red red lava lamp
becomes gloriously alive
I have a dream
He said
glorying in the splendor
of his words
the splendor of his deam
that one day there will
be
freedom for one night
and then the next
and every night after
simply because it is
my right to
live
I have a dream
He said
well Mr. King
I have a dream too.
